WEEKLY SUMMARY DURING LOCKDOWN 12th Jun - 18th Jun

Monthly review in motion 2020 selected highlights only


Friday 12th - The Polish SR22 SP-NCG departed at 1235 back to Poznan. AS365 G-NHAC laft us at 1305 as HLE63C up to Teeside and Islander G-HEBS made its return from Oban landing at 1410. More Jet2 swaps as B738 G-JZHC EXS051B headed for Newcastle at 1025 and in a repeat of yesterday B738 G-DRTB  EXS053B arrived from Newcastle at 1345.

Monday 15th -Nil

Tuesday 16th -The pace picked up slightly today as a few visitors made thier way to Leeds. First up was Cessna 406 G-MAFA from Cranfield arriving at 1110 as DCT03. Next up was Islander G-SICA ( picture below) on a first visit arriving as DCT02 from Aberdeen at 1350. Last up from Biggin Hill was PA28 G-TKHE landing at 1425. Jet2 had a couple of shakedown flights as G-JZHV made a flight over the Peak district laeving shortly before 1100 returning at 1130 G-GDFU left for East Midlands and this afternoon G-GDFR made a quick circuit in the Leeds zone from 1330-1345. Arriving from East Midlands at 1355 was B738 G-JZHE as EXS054B. And making an appearance from the depths of the Multiflight complex was the next B738 G-DRTZ.

Wednesday 17th - Nearing lunch we saw the first visitor land as C550 G-SPRE c/s SYG2 arrived from Oxford. At around the same time RAF Phenom ZM337 CWL36 joined overhead for one hold before making an ILS approach at 1120 and then headed back to Cranwell. Next to arrive from Liege was Netjets Phenom CS-PHM c/s NJE066U landing at 1130. The earlier visitor G-SPRE departed for Le Bourget at 1225. One of the many Britten Norman  Islanders to have recently visited us departed back to Oban when G-HEBS left at 1325. SR22 N222ED returned to Sherburn at 1430 after arriving in early March. Finaly CS-PHM left as NJE809B to Stockholm Bromma at 1530.

Thursday 18th - Jet2 PA31 G-IFIT departed around 0825 this morning to Belfast and returned around 1345. C406 G-SMMB departed back to Inverness as MB1692 this afternoon at 1525.

Monthly review in motion 2020 selected highlights only

LBA will now only be open on Tuesday and Wednesdays and alternate Fridays from 0800-1600. Helicopter movements will be allowed from Multiflight from 0700-1900. All other times PPR via ATC.

Friday 29th -G-BTII Grumman AA5 mada an approach and go arouns at 1530

Saturday 30th - Jet2 dispatched B738 G-JZBL EXS053B to Stansted departing Leeds at 1058 this morning.

Sunday 31st - The following all made approaches at Leeds but did not land. PA28 G-BODE at 1210, G-BEKO at 1255 and Ikarus G-MPHY at 1305

Monday 1st -Nil

Tuesday 2nd - RAF Atlas ZM419  C/.S Comet 452 joine the hold at 1055 and proceded to conduct 4 approaches until its departure at around 1150. Light visitors included PA28 G-HIZZ at 1130 and Chopper G-HIZZ a Robinson R22 FROM 1515 to 1545. Jet2 flew B733 G-GDFK on an airtest as EXS051B departing at 1143 and returning at 1227. Running down the ILS but not landing were G-AXZD PA28 at 1220 and C172 G-ASMJ at 1400.

Wednesday 3rd - A pretty good day for smaller Jets with yet another visit from Belgian FA7X OO-LUM c/s BAF94 visiting us between 1015-1035 arriving  from Brussels and leaving for Shannon. Citation 525 G-TWOP arrivedas CLF373 from Toulouse at 1146. And another 525 from France in the form of F-HAJD c/s VLJ40AV arrived at 1235 from Angoulmere and left at 1330 for Marseille. 3 Jet2 movements today as G-JZBN left us for Stansted at 1110 as EXS055B and in the opposite direction  G-GDFR EXS051B and G-JZHV EXS059B  arrived at 1430 & 1457 respectively.

Thursday 4th -Whilst G-TWOP remained with us today it was joined by another C525 when M-OLLY arrived at 0900 from Memmingham. G-GDFU made its way to Leeds from Stansted as EXS051B arriving here at 1212. Something somewhat smaller and considerabbly faster than the usal transporter when the RAF presented us with a visit by Typhoon ZJ929 as it slid down the approach at 1520 as Triplex 71 before roaraing off into the distance.

Friday 22nd - For a change it was just that little bit busier with Austrian Cessna Mustang OE-FZB making the first of two visits arriving from Geneva at 0815 c/s GAC589U and departing 25 minutes later to Lille using GAC478V. PA28 G-THKE departed at 0925 to Eshott near Alnwick. Beech 90 M-TSRI arrived shortly after 10am from Newcastle and remained here until 1605 when it left for Chester Hawarden. RAF C17 ZZ171 joined the hold above Leeds at 1345 it stayed with us until 1425 making only 1 full ILS approach at 1420. OE-FZB completed the days events with its second visit ariving as GAC478W from Lille and an hou later departing to Paris Le Bourget.

Tuesday 26th - A Bumper day here at Leeds.
Morning The first inbound movement of today was King Air D-IBAR arriving from Dusseldorf at 0910. Jet2s PA31 G-IFIT departed at 0815 to Dublin and returned later at 1255 prior to an engineering fleet arrival mentioned later in todays news. Another King Air in the form of G-IASB c/s MDI8 made the short hop down from Durham at 0915 and took off againat 1010 on a local area flight before landing once again at 1035. Next up joining the overhead at approximately 1025 was Belgian Air Force FA7X OO-LUM c/s BAF90 conducting some hold patterns before landing at 1042 and taking off at 1110 for Newquay. As the morning wore on SR22 N590SD left Multiflight engineering at 1050 toward Sherburn and  G-IASB departed at 1130 back to Durham and at 1135 the German King Air D-IBAR departed back to Dusseldorf.





Afternoon Midday saw the arrival of the Canadian Learjet 40 C-FEMC from Keflavik. Jet2 made a couple of swaps as recorded in the fleet list below, but one addition was B733 G-GDFL EXS051F returning to us from Dublin landing at Leeds at 1349. Another fine example of a Britten Norman Islander arrived from Aberdeen as G-SICB touched down at 1415. PA28 G-LTFB made an ILS approach at 1530 before heading to Leeds East. Finally French Citation 525 F-HBTV c/s ASJ724 was our final caller arriving from Le Bourget at 1540 and departed in the opposite direction at 1605.

Wednesday 27th -Quite another busy day for Leeds as first out of the blocks was Canadian Learjet C-FEMC leaving for Keflavik at 0950. Cessna 404 G-BWLF arrived from East Midlands at 1010 and returned there leaving us at 1420 c/s REV4LF. For a second day in a row Belgian FA7X arrived at 1020 for a brief stop departing at 1040 for Dublin c/s BAF91. Islander G-SICB took to the skies at 1150 and remained in the local zone for a short time before heading towards Gamston, it later returned to Leeds landing around 1335.
A number of g/a movements included G-ROLY C172 arriving from Netherthorpe at 1300, DA42 G-HAKA departing Leeds to Gamston at 1310 c/s DCT07 and a couple of touch and goes at 1500 and 1510 by PA28's G-AVRK  and G-BODE respectively.
